Fortify Living is a supportive housing development by Fortify Life, designed to provide safe, stable, and affordable homes for neighbors rebuilding their lives. Each apartment is part of a larger vision to strengthen families, restore hope, and create a lasting foundation for community connection and growth.

Project Overview

For Phase 1, there will be 11 rental units — five 1-bedroom, five 2-bedroom, and one 3-bedroom apartment. The site has the potential for up to four phases total, which would create around 40 units once the full project is complete.

Fortify Living Highlights

Project Scope

The project is made possible through community collaboration, public and private funding, and the shared belief that everyone deserves a place to belong.

Timeline

Fortify Living Apartments will be located adjacent to Fortify Home in Auburn, Indiana—providing affordable, community-connected housing within walking distance of key neighborhood resources and services.

We are currently in the planning and funding stages, with initial construction expected to begin following final approvals and funding awards in Spring 2026. Future phases of Fortify Living is dependent upon grant funding,

Ownership

The apartments will be owned and operated by the Fortify network of nonprofit organizations, ensuring long-term affordability and community-centered management.

Cost & Funding

Phase 1 of the project is estimated at $2.2 million, not including land acquisition. Fortify has applied for Affordable Housing Program funds through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and plans to seek additional HOME funds through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).
